Furfuryl Alcohol
Description
Furfuryl Alcohol is a colorless to light yellow liquid primarily used as a reactive solvent and chemical intermediate. Its most prominent application is in the manufacture of foundry resins, where it serves as a key binder component in furan resin systems for sand casting molds and cores. Furfuryl Alcohol is also used in the production of corrosion-resistant materials, adhesives, and thermosetting polymers.
Its high reactivity allows it to polymerize readily under acidic conditions, making it valuable in thermoset resin formulations and composite materials.
