1,4-Butanediol (1,4-BDO) is a versatile, colorless, and organic liquid classified as a diol, containing two hydroxyl groups attached to a four-carbon linear chain. It is widely used as an intermediate in the synthesis of polymers, solvents, and pharmaceuticals.
Key applications include production of polyurethanes, polyester resins, elastic fibers, and as a solvent or chemical intermediate in various industries.
