Dodecylamine is a long-chain primary aliphatic amine with the chemical formula C₁₂H₂₇N. It appears as a colorless to pale yellow liquid or solid (depending on temperature). This compound is highly hydrophobic and mildly basic, making it especially effective as a surfactant, corrosion inhibitor, and flotation agent.
Due to its excellent surface activity and reactivity, dodecylamine finds use in a range of applications including ore flotation, rubber and plastics processing, agrochemicals, textile treatment, and antistatic agents.
