Dioctyl Adipate
Description
Dioctyl Adipate (DOA) is a clear, colorless, and oily liquid primarily used as a plasticizer. It imparts excellent flexibility, low-temperature performance, and good resistance to UV light and weathering in a variety of polymers. Due to its balance of permanence and softness, DOA is commonly used in applications such as flexible films, synthetic leather, wire and cable insulation, and food packaging.
In industrial formulations, DOA enhances the workability and elongation properties of materials, making it a preferred choice in adhesives, sealants, and coatings. It is also used as a lubricant additive and in cosmetic formulations where mildness and plasticizing effects are desired.
