Dimethylaminopropylamine (DMAPA) is a clear, colorless to pale yellow liquid that contains both a primary and a tertiary amine group, making it highly reactive and versatile in chemical synthesis. Its molecular formula is C₅H₁₄N₂.
DMAPA is widely used as an intermediate in the production of surfactants, particularly for personal care products like shampoos and conditioners.
It is also used in the manufacture of epoxy curing agents, textile chemicals, water treatment agents, adhesives, and polyurethane catalysts. Due to its bifunctional structure, DMAPA is especially useful in applications requiring both reactivity and flexibility in molecular design.
