Diethyl Maleate
Description
Diethyl Maleate is a clear, colorless liquid used primarily as a chemical intermediate, reactive diluent, and additive in various industrial and specialty chemical applications. As a diester of maleic acid, it features two ethyl ester groups that make it highly reactive. Due to its dual ester functionality, Diethyl Maleate is valued for its ability to modify polymers and improve flexibility, water resistance, and chemical stability.
DEM is also commonly used in the production of pharmaceuticals, resins, and plasticizers. Its excellent solvency and compatibility also make it suitable for use in coatings, adhesives, and personal care formulations.
