Azelaic Acid
Description
Azelaic Acid is a white crystalline, linear dicarboxylic acid with the chemical formula C₉H₁₆O₄. It is widely used in industrial and specialty chemical applications due to its bifunctional reactivity.
In industrial formulations, it serves as a key building block for plasticizers, alkyd resins, polyesters, polyamides, and corrosion inhibitors. Its two terminal carboxylic acid groups make it especially valuable in the production of high-performance and biodegradable polymers.
