Used for pesticide raw materials, preparation of insecticides, herbicides, and fungicides; Dye for raw materials, production Pyrazolone series and aniline derivatives series dye; solvent for cellulose ether; used in antimalarial drugs, spices, paint, and coating solution; chelating agent; resin modifier;  increases printing ink viscosity; polymerization catalyst of aluminum, chrome, and other metal complexes;  used as a flavoring agent and a solvent.
