APPLICATION
Used in the synthesis of amphetamine-class drugs, artificial resins, as a chemical intermediate in the manufacture of certain dyes, pharmaceutical products, gum inhibitor in petrol, to flavor products, manufacture synthetic tannins, and as a photographic developer. It is a lachrymator and has been used as a war gas.
